Not willing to honor agent contract & poor treatment of customers ripoff

We hired an agent from this office in January, to sell our home. As part of the contract we were told that we could fire the agent (and assumed the office) if he was not doing what he agreed to when selling our home.

Since the listing of our home we have had 5 showings and no follow through with resolving such a low turn-out. Even in a slow market our competition is receiving more traffic.

We approached the agent and gave him 30 days to get the house sold or we would exercise our right to cancel the contract early (by a month). Additionally, we asked the agent to discuss the situation with his broker. The agent did not follow through with this and my husband finally had to contact the broker, Greg Hodges.

We had been warned by others about Greg's attitude toward customers, and sadly it all panned out. He immediately defended his agent and took none of our opinions into consideration. He was unprofessional, and disrespectful making it even more difficult to proceed forward.

We held to the schedule our agent established on April 29, despite the fact that I had suffered from the flu and was undergoing medical treatment. We cleaned, polished and vacated the premisses for hours at a time with our two children. We requested that a certain agent not do our open houses based on a lacking in enthusiasm, profesionalism, and being rude toward us (the home owners). The next thing we know our open house is canceled without any notice or conversation and at the last minute.

We took the step to begin interviewing other agents and all showed us how poorly written our marketing ad is. Not only is the ad mish-mashed together, but is describing things that are of no value to perspective buyers. These agents were also able to point out that the list shows a very low payment to the buying agents (an amount lower than what was agreed upon).

We have tried to end our business dealings amicably but they are refusing. This is the only agent we have found the require a 6 month commitment too! And though they tell you that contract can be canceled early, they won't do it.

Proceed carefully before doing dealings with this office.
