I was promised by this company (Michael Gill specifically) something that they have not been able to deliver. It cost me $2,200.
In May of I called the US Tax relief agency about my 1997 tax bill. I owed about $30,000 and I desperately needed help. I was promised by by Michael Gill who said he was a supervisor that they can absolutely settle this debt for $1500. I did not believe him and told him that I have already tried many avenues on my own. After he took all my information he promised and guaranteed me that they will be able to do this. I was charged $2,200 for this service. He put me in contact with his "best" tax advisor. The written contract was for one year but again I was promised that it would be for as long as it takes and his "best" tax advisor would have power of attorney and protect me from any possible wage garnisments. Long story short - They were not able to help me (just like I told them when we first spoke). They were made aware that I have filed my own Offer in Compromise with the IRS for $7,500 and was turned down. His tax advisor tried an offer in compromise for much less and was also turned down.in fact this only made my situation worse because the offer in compromise extended the statute of limitations by another 8 months. When I told this to Michael Gill, he told me that's not true because they still have power of attorney with thwe IRS and would still protect me from wage garnishments. Just last week the IRS started garnishing my wifes paycheck.
Resolution Sought: I want my $2,200 back. I'm sure this company has ways around this, especially since all promises were made over the telephone and it's dragged on for almost 2 years. I have demanded my money back numerous times. I usually speak with an answering service and Michael Gill rarely returns my phone calls. I want it on record for people who desperately need the help, not to trust this company.
