The end of October Michael Eakman advertised on Craig's List for people with a TAM card, i.E., experienced liquor servers, to pour wine at an International Wine and Food event in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were to be paid $100 for two day's work, November 4 and 5. As nearly as I can guess, about 20 people signed up for this.
Toward the end of the first day, he came around asking us each to write down our name and address so he could mail us a check. I have never received a check, nor have the others who worked the event that I've talked to.
After 5 weeks I called the number I had for him and was told somebody would call me back. Nobody called. Since then, I have called and simply gotten voice mail.
He is still advertising himself on the internet as a promoter. I would be very careful dealing with this man or his partner, James Eakman who is either his father or son — I forget which was which.
