The credit card bill came to $4,300.00 The other couple in the store had the exact same experience. There are two times when people hate to haggle. One is in buying caskets. Another is when buying beautiful jewelry (gift from him to her).
Let every buyer beware: when buying anything in Europe, make sure you have your calculator and the exact exchange rate. Better yet, bring travelers checks or cash. Be careful about carrying cash in many places in Europe, however.
