I have spoken/chatted with this lady through email on various instances regarding her dogs. Though I do not personally know her in any way and nver have been to her home to verify for myself, I do remember conversations with her. She emailed me about a DOG i had for sale actually. I had some Mastiffs puppies at the time. I am a breeder myself by term, but let me clarify, I am no Puppy Mill. I have four dogs total that live with me. The Mastiff is my brother's dog, and since I had a litter of different puppies I was advertsising as well, I included his pups in their too. Getting back to why I am posting her. Well, this lady, or shuld I say young girl she sounded like, informed me that she had cocker spaniels, mastiff's, chihuahua's, poodles, shihtzu's, Boston terriers and schnauzers, and was thinking about a few other breeds as well. She wanted to know what sold good for me over the internet. I told her that I was no internet breeder or anything, I simply had a litter of puppies and my brother had the mastiff's.
She began to tell me that had begun breeding with a few dogs last year and at the time she spoke to me she was already up over 20 something dogs. But the dogs she had weren't producing for her like they should or something. She asked the price of my puppies, and I told her, and then the next thing was if I would be interested in some "swapping", I asked what was this or what she meant. She told me that she likes to "swap" dogs with others because this would give her what she needed and give the other person something they needed. I told her That I was looking to add to my dogs, they were all I had and all I was going to have. When she knew I didn't want anything she had, she asked me if i knew of any breeders in my area that breed what she was looking for. I began to get a little offended by this. First of all, I have only had a total of 3 litter is 6 years off of my dogs, but to think there are people out there that literally "sawp or trade" dogs seems down right awful too me! I would not have sold her anything had she had the money for it, which not to add to speculation, but she called me about puppy for sale, but then ended up telling me point blank that she didn't have the money but wanted the swapping/tradeing thing!
I was offended like I said. I seen her website, and the pictures of the shihtzu's are of puppies, and have been the same for over 8-9 months or so. I too would wonder what they look like now. The original picture of her house on the website said it was in the same Piedmont town people on this site are talking about, and the house looked awful too me as well, and this was just from the pictures, which was not even a close up at all, but you could tell it was terrible looking too me. She did tell me about her "ranch", She told me that she had a couple of horses at the time, and she had some younger ones, a stud and a female horse I remember specifically. I am trying to remember correctly for the ones whom have posted prior to me what she tol dme about them for anyone who wants to check on the background of those and how they ended up. I want to say I remember her saying she lived in Georgia, west Georgia, I think something like Granger or something. I know she said she had a few horses there and had them moved up to Alabama when they moved. But for some reason, I think I remember her saying she had other horses from something, ot maybe not, I can't rember totally now.
The only thing I have too say is that I may not be able to attest to the living conditions of the dogs or horses, or family, and I wouldn't even want too for that matter. But I can attest to the fact that this lady has excessive numbers of dogs and puppies, and that she is always looking for anyone to get dogs and puppies from to add to her pile of breeding. Like I said I do nOT live there, and can only tell you what I have remember or pulled from emails. I will look back over emails for anyone who may wnat too know and see if I overlooked anything that could be helpful in letting others know too that this lady is a backyard breeder. Oh, and I do have one email I know that I just finished reading where she stated too me that her VET, she uses, she does just call him, he hasn't seen all her dogs or animals, and that she couldn't afford to get him out there one time when one of her horses was sick with a cold, not sure if this is the same horse she has or used to have or where it came from. Also, she did tell me her vet is real good about telling her what she can do over the phone, to save her money. I wonder if that vet could loose his license for giving medical information or treatment over the phone on an animal he hasn't ever seen? I know my vet would never tell me over the phone treatment on my house dogs, i could call him, but he first and foremost wants to see them in person, as there are always things that he could see or pinpoint and notice about the animal that I may have overlooked in describing it too him on the phone. He may not charge me for the office visit, but atleast he sees it, before he gives me medicine on it. I wonder if there is any laws on the books for giving or prescribing medication to a dog that the vet has never seen before? Does anyone know or have any idea? I would like too know the answer to that.
Like I said, I do not know her in anyway, I am not laying judge on her at all or her familiys living condition. I can only attest too this breeder informing me of how many dogs she has, the breeds, and that she does want to swap and trade puppies or dogs all the time. She came across as nice to me i would haev to say, but it ws like she wanted me too feel sorry for her. The line about her just getting into breeding, still a newbe so to speak, if i had any dogs she could help me out as well by swapping and adding to them. I declined. But the storys she emailed was like a pitty me story actually. So there isn't much i can offer to anyone about this person, but my opinion would have to agree that yes, she is a backyard breeder/puppy mill person in my opinion. I will look back over my emails as well and see if there is any other information i think may be helpful to anyone and if so, i'll post it, so anyone can make their own informed decision about this breeder.
