I recently had cell phone service with sprint/nextel i had some financial problems arise and was unable to fulfill the contract, my phone was turned off in dec in on march 08 i rec. A call a my office from a man who said that he was authorized to settle the amount of my bill for only 150.00 if i authorized a check by phone today to be ran by march 11. I told him that i did not have 150.00 he said the lowest they would accept was 120.00. I told him that i really did not have the money but if it meant that we would be free and clear with this debt that i would do it. On march 11 they took the 120.00 debit from my account, then i rec. A bill for the full amount that included two cacellation fees at 150.00 each.
When i contacted cust service about this matter they said that the chargeas were not applied to the account because there was a balance on it when the settled the balance that made the charges become due. Thet tricked me into paying the 120.00 in order to charge me another 500.00 thye bill they sent also included a 35.00 per month monitoring fee for the phones even though there was no way to make a call from these phones since dec/05 i believe that they trump up a bunch of charges that people cannot pay and then complain that you will not pay the account off. Just treat me faily and i will pay what i owe. I think that these methods of collections should be illegal, they said that if i paid the 120.00 with a ckeck by phone on or before the date 3/11/06 that the account would be settled not that they would bill me another 500.00 as soon as they posted the payment i mean give me a break people what ever happened to do unto others as you would have them do unto you?
