My craft/antique/junk booth buddy, Carla Holt, signed contract with Ms. Carter. I became Mrs Holts business partner later. We did business with her for several months with no major problems.
Our booth pay days were on the 1st and 15th of each month. On Sept. 15 wnet to booth to pick up pay check and the business was closed with a note on the door to call the business phone #.
Mrs. Holt call and spoke with Shirley. She was told that the business was closing and we had 2 days to retrieve our merchandise. Several vendors spent Saturday and Sunday picking up their merchandise. Some vendors were not there because they had not heard and she had not called them. We were told that if their merchandise was still there after Sunday that it would be forfited.
In regards to payments Ms Carter told everyone that she was going to have to finalize everything and would mail out the checks on the first of October. We also ask for half of Septs. Rent back due to the fact that we had paid in full. Ms. Carter told us not to worru that she was a Christian and an honest business person.
Well... As you can probably guess by now... NOBODY has received anything from her. She owes me (Sharon) approximately $400. And Mrs. Holt appx $100. And we are just 2 of the many vendors that she has STOLEN money and in some cases merchandise from.
She has told severl people "well they can just sue me"!
