Ripoff Poor Service, Deception, Suspicious Billing, Deplorable Customer Service Schaumberg Illinois

I have been a customer with Cingular Wireless for just two months, and in those two months have encountered nothing but problems.in fact, in the first few days of having my phone, my service stopped and when I called to inquire why, the customer service rep accused me of not paying my bill. I hadn't even received a bill yet! Then, my reception kept getting worse and worse. I called and spoke to one rep who told me there weren't enough towers in my area. When I asked her about cancelling my service, she informed me that they were building new towers in this area and assured me that my problems would soon be fixed. Of course, this was within the thirty day time frame in which free cancellation would be honored.

So, given this information, I decided to stick with it. Then, my service seemed to go from bad to worse, and I could only make calls outside standing in certain areas, etc. When I called to complain again, the new rep told me it must be a problem with the phone itself. When I told her what the initial rep told me about the lack of towers, she told me she "didn't know why she told me this" and that it was untrue.in fact, I have heard this statement on every call to the "customer service" department. At this point, the rep tells me I can cancel, for a "small early termination fee of $150). So, with this in mind, I decide to keep my service. Then, the next day my phone gets stolen and I go into the nearest store to get help. The associate there informs me that, because I bought the phone in another state, she cannot help me and I must contact customer service again. I do and get in tough with a rep who tells me that because I don't have insurance, I will have to pay $120 for a new phone. At this point, I explain to her that if I'm going to pay that much for a phone with poor service, I'm prepared to pay $150 to cancel my contract and get a phone that works correctly. She then offers me some deal saying that she can give me insurance for that time frame and that it will all work out.

Then, she tells me I can also visit a store to get a new phone. When I tell her that the sales clerk told me she could not help me, this rep tells me that she can and she "doesn't know why the associate said that". When I speak with another rep., I get laughed at and she tells me this is against the law and she "doesn't know why the other rep told me this". I then asked to speak to a supervisor, am transferred to the spanish automated line, then hung up on. I call back the next day and speak with person after person, all of which give me the same answer. Then, a supervisor has the audacity to speculate that because I went over my minutes for the first month and had a high phone bill, that I was un-credible and irresponsible. He then proceeded to argue with me, and I don't recall hearing a single apology for the behavior I had encountered. When I inquire about cancelling my contract, he tells me that "he thinks" because the phone was purchased at Best Buy that I have to go back to the original store the phone was purchased in and cancel yet another contract there. This store is in another state and is obviously not convenient. At this point I have no idea what to do about my phone or what my next steps are. I just want to cancel my service, without the fee, as I feel the damages I have encounterd are fee enough. I don't want to have anything to do with company ever again.
