Here's the deal with what i found of "On Track Modeling" or "the agency, " while living in sc i went to an open call or model search that otm was hosting and i sat through the and i went through the "please shoot me now this guy can't get any more sleezy" speech that the owner put on. I was choosen and told that i would have to get my comp cards even though i had my own already however they wern't exceptable because i had my New york address on them...
So i use their photographer becaause at the time i had just moved there like 3 months before hand and really wasn't too familiar with things. This is how they make their money
#1 THEY HAVE YOU PAY THE FIRST HALF OF YOUR PICTURES UP FRONT TO THEM!!! They photographer and i had become friends after and he told me exactly what he was paid the amount you bring to him the day he shoots you in a cheezy hotel downtown!
#2 the comp cards should only cost around 25-50 cents per card. Anything more and you are getting ripped off. The catch? On Track Modeling tells you when your pics come in, how many to order, and how much more of your hard earned cash is going to take them to more cities to rip off more people.
I did get jobs and go sees, however it is mainly all promo modeling that anyone can sell theirselves too. Also you are paying for your gas, hotel room, $ for food ect... All while you are at that particular job that never seems to be anywhere close to your area code only to take most of that check that you worked hard for as their fee for "representing" you and "promoting" your comp cards to new clients. All i have to say: "they got me!"
