Wizard of Claws is a company supposedly "specializing" in toy breed dogs and advertises and prices them according to breed and size. The smaller the dog, the more expensive.
We purchased a dog advertised as a tiny toy Pomeranian/Maltese and were told the dog would be 4-6 pounds when fully grown. She was priced accordingly at $1250 $345 to have her shipped to us in California.
This dog is now 12lbs 1oz and looks nothing like a Pomeranian or a Maltese. We contacted the company asking why they stated to us and charged us for a 4-6# dog that is now 12 lbs at 9 months old. The salespeople stated they could not guarantee size and who's to say what a Pomeranian/Maltese is really supposed to "look" like. The owner, of course, never returned emails, faxes or calls.
If a company prices dogs by size (when fully grown), and states that they "specialize" in small dogs, you'd think they would know enough to predict (within a reasonable amount) the size the dog will be. This makes me question their knowledge in their area of expertise. And since they are not willing to take responsibility for their mistake, that makes me question their ethics and custumer service.
I find it funny that their Mission Statement posted on the web site is: "We have zero tolerance for unsatisfied customers. Within reason, we will do almost anything to please our customers." I guess their "reasons" are very slim indeed, judging by all the other complaints I've read about them that they have not dealt with honorably.
