At first I thought Solana Highlands was a friendly, quaint beach community. At first glance, I was greeted with "nice" people at the leasing office. Not to mention, the location and that the place was pet-friendly. After living there for a couple months, the rental agreement I was once so optimistic about turned into a complete TRAIN WRECK. Not to mention, everything in the place starts to fall apart after just one month of living there.
Let me start off by saying I am in the United States Coast Guard, Active Duty. I am deployed half the year, live by myself with my dog, and keep to myself.in essence, I am the perfect tenant. Well, the leasing office still had to find something wrong to harass me about. Coming home after a duty day and picking up my dog from getting neutered (she's a one year old Border Collie), I have a notice on my door to get rid of my dog in three days or suffer other consequences, possibly eviction.
They completely harassed me for those three days, even cussing me out and laughing at me after I tried to explain it wasn't even my dog, that she was at the vet getting surgery when this happened. I refused to get rid of my dog, as I felt they had no right in the matter. They continued to bully me, call me, and post letters on my door for everyone to see. Half of the time, I couldn't stick up for myself in person because I was working. They showed to no respect for active duty military that sacrifice their lives for this country. The staff are a bunch of young, naive and worthless people who have no idea how to accommodate their tenants that are already overpaying for the crappy below middle-class apartments.
Aside from my personal incident with their TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT, the apartments themselves are a total disaster. Most people don't keep up their space, and it makes the place look terrible after a while. I would not waste your money here, there are so many comparable places in the area that have a leasing office with something better to do than harass respectable people.
Beware of the over-priced apartments, you can get so much more for your money!
