Michael Lourenso served as a police officer for almost a Decade. He became a police officer to follow in his father's footsteps Adaulto M Lourenso. After several years on the force he was injured in an accident which rendered him "disabled". After speaking to local officers it was deemed nothing more then a "minor" leg injury. After being prescribed pain medication Michael Lourenso began abusing the medication to an uncontrollable level.
So much so that following an investigation, Ramapo police arrested Lourenso at 12:30 P.M. Friday at the age of 35, for Forging Prescriptions to obtain his "fix". Michael Lourenso, an officer for nearly four years, lived in Monroe, Orange County at the time, and currently resides at home with his parents.
The corruption lies in the fact that any other Joe would be in custody and in Jail. Sickening enough, Michael Lourenso an already suspended Suffern police officer already charged in Rockland was re - arrested on felony counts of forging prescriptions to get pain killers.
