For Doug:
Doug and I met in September of 1999. We met first through gay.com where we chatted excessively on the chatrooms until we resorted to phone conversation.in September we met each other in Ridgefield CT for the first time. You (Doug) were a charming and witty person.
We had several more encounters throughout the month and in October you said you needed a car to get back and forth to work, which at the time was an EMS company operating out of Norwich CT. Since I cared for you, and your credit wasnt up to par (and mine was almost perfect) I decided to sign a car loan because I trusted you, and you said I could trust you on payments. We went to the local car place where we picked out a vehicle and I even put up an extra $600 to pay all taxes and registration fees not included in the original price. The car was a 1994 Oldsmobile with 74,000 miles. The total price came out to $7800, plus I even picked out the colorful license plates and gave them to you a few days later. We had more encounters after this including spending time together with your grandmother and family for Thanksgiving.
All seemed well and the first payment was due a week before Thanksgiving, in which you assured me that things were going smoothly, and that a payment was being made as we spoke. But that was not to be the case. On December 1st 1999 I got a call from the bank saying a payment had not been made. So I called YOU (Doug), and you once again assured me that everything was fine, which I found out later on, was not the case. The creditors after January 1st 2000 consistently harrassed me because you were not making payments, and after that point you cut off all communication with me through ICQ, AOL, gay.com, and all other chatrooms.
From January through May I consistently got harrassing phone calls from creditors because of Doug's inability to respectively make payments on the car.in 2002 I almost couldnt get my own car because this car loan lingered on my credit report, which also caused my credit to take a nose dive in the process. The other unfortunate aspect is that I've had to repay the debt owed by Doug to the creditors, and have continued to pay the debt back ever since, because I was the co-signer.
Through this experience it is my belief and unfortunate luck that Doug is not to be trusted. It is also unfortunate that I have to take a much longer second look at the people I care for because I do not think I am capable of trusting them, just as I had trusted Doug almost 10 years ago. Being stupid and naive are not the characteristics that I want associated with myself.
And to Doug... If you are reading this, I want you to know that I have not forgotten. You "Claim" that people are harrassing you through these rebuttals, but it is YOU who has harrassed us. You think you know us, but you have no idea. YOU think you can sue people who have infringed upon your civil rights, but it is YOU who will be sued. My parents know several attorneys, 2 federal judges, are friends with several state and congressional representatives including the CT Attorney General and they have taken notice to these allegations against you. Let it be known that you have violated people's trust and civil rights through the CT State Charter and the current laws of CT and will be held liable for such violations.
