Congress And Senate Are Out To Tax Us To Death Not listening to the american Taxpayers

Congress is saying that drilling for oil now will not lower the price of oil. Don't senators have a basic understanding of economics? Even though it will take 7 to 10 years for drilling out own oil to significantly reduce gas prices, what do they think will happen if they don'r? If we don't do something now gas will be around 7-10 dollars and we will be in the same position we are now.

I think Bush should declare it a matter of Homeland Security and override congress and allow drilling now. 69% of americans are in favor of drilling now but the democrats are giving in to environmentalists. We need to send a message to congress. The windfall profits tax that they are talking about will not lower the cost of gasoline. They say they are for the middle and working class and they are doing everything in their power to keep the prices high. They are now saying that this will force energy companies to come up with new sources of energy. They really seem to think that this will happen overnight. The companies that are the ones to do this research for alternative energy are the ones that they want to tax their profits which means they would have less money to reinvest. Also, thew profits they plan to tax are in most of out 401K and retirement accounts. So they get us coming and going. If their plan works and the piump prices drop then they are taking away our retirement money instead.

I know it will never happen but we need a fresh batch of congressmen and senators. They all need to go. We should all contact our representatives and tell them to drill now or the cost of fuel is going to keep going up.
