My 65 year old mother received a text message at 2:00 A.M. Saying that the purchase she had made last month on her target card had been selected and she could claim here $1000 gift card. It said to go to targetcontest.com and type in the code 6354 within 24 hours to claim the prize. I tried this and nothing happened when I went to the site. My mother is very smart and was not positvie that it was real, but she had made a purchase last month at target so thought it could be real (the closest one to us is 45 miles away, so we do not go often). After trying the code several times I went bad out and saw other sites posting the warnings about the scam. I did see where there were several warnings about this happening to people sind 11-8-12. It also said appeared to be coastal areas. We live in New Mexico which is not at all close to an ocean. I just wanted to file a complaint too to let you know it came from a different number than what I saw as listed numbers, and a different winner code was used. This was a pretty big disappointment for someone on a fixed income.
