I received a text at 4:42 pm on my Verizon phone. The call claims to have come from (909) 538-6591 which I can tell you ;having lived there at one time; is Riverside County in Southern California. That county encompasses Riverside of course, plus Corona, Ontario, and Norco, just off the top of my head.
Where was I...? Oh right, the text went on to tell me the following. "Your entry last month has WON! Go to TargetContests.com and enter your winning code 6354 to claim your FREE $1000 Target gift card within 24hrs."
I had heard there was a scam having to do with Target going around. However I hadn't heard there was a phone #, or a website. I also do in fact enter the contest Target has on their receipts, multiple times monthly. So of course I rationalized that "it's just coincidental timing, my vigilance entering the contests has finally paid off." Yeah right, and they're ice skating in hell today too.
