I contacted this association on 8/16 regarding a free drug prescription program they offered, for which they research and find drug manufacturers and prices based on me and my wife's income for my diabetic and heart medication. I gave them the information which was $32,000 for my wife and mine was $6,000 annual. At this time i was unemployed and exhausted all unemployement benefits. If added together our income totaled $38,000. The association also agreed to the numbers i gave them. Now, according to the drug companies this is over the income requirements and i feel this association knew this from the beginning and should never have let me go forward knowing it. They repeated these numbers today 10/12 to me by phone, therefore it shows that they knew i was over the income limit before even starting this process. I asked for a refund for this month which was taken out of my bank on 10/10, but as of 10/10 i was told they do not give refunds and it is too late anyway. This association has charged me $49.95 a month for 3 months plus $20.00 initiation fee. I am angry and and i want fairness as a consumer. I thought they were to help people in need not take advantage of them. I believe this is a form of fraud. They said they sent paperwork to my residence and i never received this. They did forward papers to my doctor to sign, i picked these up and mailed to the appropriate drug companies but the paperwork was outdated. This has caused delays and we personally had to go on the drug companies websites and obtain the correct paperwork, take it to the doctors office again and he had to fill it out again and then mail in to the drug companies again ourself. Two of these drug companies suggested we cancel from this association because of these kind of complaints and we also were told they do nothing for the consumer. I still am without insulin for 3 months.
