I lost an interview which easily pays 4x what I'm making at Braum's. I only took the job at Braum's because I had just been laid off, I have a 3 year old to take care of, and Braum's was the first place that offered a job. I was told today that I would be working an extra 3 hours as another employee wouldn't be coming in. This was the first time I was told about having to work the extra hours, and was in conflict with my interview that I had tried to schedule in such a way as not to conflict with work. My manager had changed the schedule to try to make it look like I was supposed to work until 5, and when I explained my situation to her, she said that the schedule said that I was supposed to be there until 5. I tried to reschedule my interview with no success. I am now trapped until further notice as my manager refused to allow me off of work when I was originally scheduled, and gave me absolutely no notice of the schedule change until I came in to work, basically blindsiding me with it.
