This person committed fraud on my rental. Fortunately, I didn't send him any money because he was trying to rent out my apartment! I had listed it on rentals.com and craigslist, and he took the listing, reduced the price, copied my photo, and wanted me to fill out an application.
His e-mail is [email protected]. The scam e-mail he sent to me: "Thanks for your interest and inquiries about my house. Yes the house is still available for rent and we are looking for a responsible person/family to occupy and maintain the house now that we are not around. My wife and i just moved to West Africa for a program called FAMILY LIFE AND HIV EDUCATION AND THE HIV PREVENTION FOR RURAL YOUTH PROGRAM, the program is taking place in three major countries in Europe, Africa, UK. We will be away for 2 to 3 years or more that is why I have made up my mind to put up my house for rent to whom ever that will take good care of it."
The e-mail then goes on to describe the apartment, and he sends an application (separately) asking for personal information.
When I asked to see the property in person he writes, "i want you to know that due to the fact that i am not in the states now, you can only drive by the house and view it from the exterior part, but i want to re assure you that you will love the interior part as soon as you move in.
Get back to me so that i can email you more pictures of the house
have a blessed day."
Sure would be nice to put an end to this scammer!
