I was called and asked to complete a telephone survey for Walmart. I was told I would get a $10.00 Walmart gift card and a $100.00 gas card immeadiately, within minutes via email, click to redeem. I was told to go to wakanetwork.net website, use my email as ID login and my telephone number as the password to take advantage of other discounts. I had to provide a credit card to cover the processing fee of $2.99 for the gift cards. I have never received a email from this company. As of 09/18 my checking account was charged $2.99. I was given the telephone number 877-332-1490 to call and cancel if I didn't want to take advantage of the additonal savings, but could still use the gift/gas card, was told to activate the email first before cancelling. I checked the website and there is a wakanetwork.com website, but found that this has been reported as a scam. So I called the telephone number and spoke to a representative and explained I never received a email to claim my giftcard and that I read about this company being a scam. The lady said they were a legal company and asked that I go to their website with her on the telephone, so I went to the website, she told me log in with my username (email address) and my password was my telephone number. I logged in and found that my account was active and I had the gift card to redeem, but you have to spend money & submit receipts and would get a refund in the mail. I called the number back and told them to cancel this, I was not interested in the program nor wanted to deal with the gift cards, I received a confirmation that my account was cancelled and nothing more would be charged. I also emailed my bank and alerted them to block this company from future transactions just in case.
