Ordered a pair of women's New Balance Running shoes from their website, anne-shoes.com. Received a confirmation e-mail, but after a week, orders status was still showing pending. Only then did it occur to me to add the word "fraud" to my online search of their website.
I filed a claim with Paypal, and when they contacted Anne-Shoes, they were provided with a tracking number. Several days later, I received a cheap, shower cap (like from a hotel).
I changed my Paypal claim to indicate I had received the wrong item. Paypal then requires you to RETURN the item to the seller and provide Paypal with a tracking number. Least expensive return shipment was $34 and the address Paypal told me to use was not accepted as a correct mailing address.
This is obviously the scam. Ship a cheap item in hopes that the buyer will cancel the claim instead of paying ridiculous return shipping charges. Or if they do proceed, include an incorrect address.
I'm still waiting to hear from Paypal, but don't have much confidence that they will stop the FRAUD. It's obviously been going on for awhile.
