This Company Is A Scam: Beware

My Father is an elderly man, he saw this advertisement one late night and decided to call and order. The customer service representative told him that they would need the following:

Full Name;
Birth Date;
Address;
Social Security Number;
License Number;
Name of Bank;
Credit Card Number;
Credit Card Security Code; and
Credit Card Pin.

My father gave the person all of his identifying information. To add insult to injury, the guy told my dad that the total for his $10.00 tool was around $100.00. My father told him that he longer wanted the tool or anything extra. He asked the man to cancel his order and hung up the phone. He later contacted his bank and they had to cancel his credit card, account and pin numbers. He also had to go to the Social Security Office to request a fraud alert to be put on his social security number.

What company or person would do something like this? Their product is crap and is set up to lure you in. They want to obtain your personal indentifying information. This company is not about the product, that is why at the end of the transaction the price is no where near what you expected to pay.
