November 16 or 17 my husband visited Center for Pain Control, 74 Brick Blvd, Suite 124, Brick, NJ 08723, Phone 732-262-0700 for back pain. BEFORE, agreeing to treatment he specifically discussed the cost of the treatment. Dr. John Coccaro, said the cost would be $1,500.00. On November 21, my husband was given an injection in his lower spine. The treatment didn't work and he never returned to the facility. On December 29, I received a statement from my health plan that John Coccaro sent them a bill for $8,400.00 and then another bill for $926.00 for a total charge of $9,326.00! My insurance paid them $3,711.88. On April 17 I received a FINAL NOTICE of collection to pay them $5,614.12 within 10 days or they turn it over to Collections. I immediately called their office and reminded them that Dr. Coccaro said $1,500 and our insurance already paid $3,711.88, but since we also have Medicare, she said that she would resubmit to them and to ignore the bill. Today July 7 I received a letter from a Collection AGency called Bureau of Accounts Control Phone 732-370-7047. Not only did the Center of Pain Control, NOT help, they lied about the charges. Now they threaten to ruin our credit. My husband would not have been able to use this service, nor would he have agreed to treatment if they had told us this cost. This is a deceitful practice.
