My mobile phone bill that month included a 25cents to $5 dollars charged from this 3rd party provider. I have never dealt with them in any way. As far as I'm concerned, my contract is with Telstra and they have no right to charge my account without my direct consent. It's 25 cents (But $5.0 dollars its outrageous) but this would be the thin end of the wedge - if I ignored it, I'm sure the charges would increase and become more frequent. A 30 minute phone call to Telstra 13 22 00 (from my land line phone where the calls are not timed) resulted in the charge being reversed and a bar being put on my account to prevent further charges - which prevents premium services being accessed from my phone - and that suits me fine.interestingly I was left on "hold" for about 15 minutes, and the cynic in me would say that this may have been a deliberate way to increase my mobile phone bill - but I was on my landline.
