Asima Khan of the Financial Independence Agency and her partner Lindsey Leidel claimed that they could settle our debt for 55% of the amount owed to our creditors. We gave them $34,674.24, which we understood to be 55% of our debt plus FIA's fee for negotiation service. Not only did they not negotiation with any of our creditors but they refuse to return our money. When we are able to reach Asima, she would make verbal offers, and has even offered through her attorney, Jeffrey Jacob Franklin (P71589) of Franklin Law PLLC, to return the money on various payment schedules. Our requests for written agreements have been ignored or refused. There has been no return of any money. Asima also runs this scam under another business name: A&L Reduction Experts out of Birmingham, MI.
