I went into the Booneville Exxon Mobil station on South 2nd Street to buy the yellow pack Skittles. I walked out of the store and immediately returned to return the Skittles because my wife told me that we had some at home already. The lady at the counter told me that "we can't take that back due to FDIC rules stating that if food leaves the store, it cannot be returned." I complained that she was making these rules up as she goes and that FDIC is the banking and monetary industry and has nothing to do with convenience stores. She then corrected herself and stated that this was an "OSHA law", to which I complained further that this is not so.instead of listening to me, she then immediately called the police and stated that I was being irrate. The police arrived, and without listening to what I had to say, ushered me out of the store.
I was quite perturbed with this lady's attitude as a retail sales clerk. She acted poorly as a customer service representative and lied about laws that do not exist. I shop everyday at this service station, but will not patronize this place again. I plan to speak with the manager of the store and lodge my complaint further.
