Let me start by introducing myself to you.
My name is Mr Godfrey Osinachi, a Manager with the Union Bank Plc, Lagos, Nigeria [formerly Barclay's Bank of England BBE]. I am the personal accounts manager to Late Engineer James Pinkney.
He was a national of your country and a major contractor [category 'A'] with an oil development company here in Nigeria - viz, The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC], and he was awarded a contract shortly before his untimely death. - who herein, shall be referred to as my client.
In November - my client, his wife and their three children were involved in a plane crash and ever since, I personally have made several enquiries to your embassy here to locate any of my client's extended relatives, and this also had proved unsuccessful.
After several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his last name over the Internet, in order to locate any member of his family - hence, I got your contact. I have contacted you to assist me in repatriating the funds and assets/property, left behind by my client before they get confiscated or declared unserviceable by the bank where his huge deposits were lodged - particularly with the Union Bank Plc, Lagos - Nigeria, where the deceased had an account - valued at about $7 million US dollars.
Our management has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the account confiscated within the next fourteen [14] official working days.
Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 2 years running now, I hereby seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased - since you bear the same last name, so that the proceeds of this account valued at $7 million US dollars
can be paid to your nominated account and then you and I can share the money - 50% to me - 45% to you and 5% for expenses that may be incurred in the process of the transaction.
An attorney will be contracted to help revalidate and notarize all the necessary legal documents that can be used to back up any claim we may make.
All I require from you now is your honest cooperation to enable us see this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.
