Four Children in Dange

On the above date CPS and Detroit police arrived at a home in Detroit where my four grandchildren reside. They are two sets of twins; ages five and six. On this day they were found home alone with easy access to seven loaded and unlocked guns that were unlicensed. There was no accessible food in the home where the children had spent twenty hours of the last two days home alone. They ate dry cereal and microwaved popcorn. Upon investigation, the social worker was informed of these facts by the children, staff at school and relatives. That the children were left alone several times for over eight hours. That they were scared and hungry. That the children are often beat with a leather belt naked, then made to take a cold shower, then removed and beaten again. That the father is a heroin user, among other drugs. That the father often blacks out while driving with the children, has no drivers license or car seats for the children and has totaled several cars with the children in them. That the children are in need of medical care. One child is nearly blind and the school has made repeated requests to the father to provide glasses for her.

With all this information and more it has been made clear that none of these incidents are deemed unsafe for the children to be released to the father upon his request. That his full parental rights are in tact. And there is no danger to the children if they are left in his care. My complaint is simple. How is this "protective" to these children in any way? What is an unsafe environment to Child Protective Agency? Does anyone care about the lives of these children? We do! Can you help get to the bottom of this disturbing situation before the end up dead on the six o'clock news?
