Ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing

My complaint is that Fingerhut refuses to correct the billing of late fees on an account that I paid in full. The last bill I recieved from them, I paid it on full and they insist that the payment was late.
I have sent them a copy of the check from my bank showing that the payment was made before the due and that their company signature was on the check. I have only purchased one item EVER from this company. I paid it off before it had to be paid off. I don't know how they can do this to a customer. I had assummed it was finally cleared up, until today when I talked with someone about my credit rating and found out that Thanks to fingerhut, I have not got good enough credit.

Please tell me how to get this fixed so that my credit rating will go back up. This is so unfair. I have always paid my bills on time. I do not think I should have to pay late fees on a bill that was not late, just to get my credit fixed. That is what my husband said I would have to do. It is not fair that a company can do this. Thank you for any help you can offer.
