I was promised a total refund of the cost of my e: mail lessons ($8000.) if I sold three notes within a this first year of doing business with Dalbey Education or also known as Winning in the Cash Flow Business. I was falsely informed from the Infomercial as well as by a personal phone call to the company as to what type of training I was to be given.
I am left with a mental disability that was created when I was diagnosed with MCTD in 1998. My disability changed my ability to cope with reading, stress and nervousness. I now live on my Social Security Benefits of the Disabled before the age of 65.
I would love to be able to earn sufficient living funds on my own and not be a burden to our Society. However this is just a dream for me.
I discussed these issues with the Salesman per a phone call I received from this company. I was assured that I could and would be perfect for the training from Dalbey Education. With a fee of $8000. Charged to my credit cards.
While being coached on the phone with this Salesman he assured me that I would benefit from the online training and that I would be able to watch videos on the internet to learn the trade of acquiring and selling notes on properties.
This salesman stayed on the phone with me while I used my cell phone to call and acquire the funds from three of my credit cards
To my amazement the online lessons were of the reading nature. I called Dalbey back and re-informed them that I have a disability with reading and comprehension and the courses they were sending me were not as described on the phone.
The company representative told me that I could not get a refund for the ($8000.) educational program. I was then told that I would definitely receive a refund for the informercial charges of $300. And that I would be put on a special program for the sales of the Property Notes. This is where the contract breah has occurred. I was informed that i would have one year to sell three property notes and if i did so... I would receive a refund for the entire $8000. I was also offered a free 3 day course at the school in colorado, at anytime i chose to attend. I WAS TO PAY THE AIRFARE, THEY WERE TO PROVIDE A MOTEL ROOM FOR ME AND LUNCH WAS ON THEM BUT IF I NEEDED ANY MORE MEALS IT WOULD BE AT MY EXPENSE.
For some reason the online courses stopped being sent to my e-mail I was not reading the course material, I just stored them on my email account. Today (02-16), I again called my credit card company to try to dispute the charges made to my account for the misinformed schooling from Dalbey. My credit card company asked me for the phone number so they could contact Dalbey Education on my behalf. All of the phone numbers for Dalbey Education were no longer in use. I did a search on the internet for Dalbey and this is the site I have found. This is the first I have known that they Dalbey Education Company has been shut down by the Colorado State Attorney General.
This action by the State General is a relief for me. I do firmly believe I was scammed and I am very thankful to see this company has been shut down.
And now that Dalbey Education cannot fulfill my contract with them, my credit card company can and will help me with a refund.
