We purchased a manufactured home that came with a warranty on the type of windows that were installed during the construction of the home. Over a period of years 7 windows failed due to defects. We can barely see outdoors. The address includes the wording, "Bankruptcy Warrant Claim Service" on the hand written envelope. They will not give me a contact name of a person, a phone number, email address or a physical address.
Here's how the warranty reads in part: Lifetime Guarantee—"This Lifetime Guarantee covers all defects in materials and/or workmanship by Alpine Windows. It’s as simple as that.in the event a defect does occur, Alpine Windows will, solely at its discretion, repair or replace the window or refund the original purchase price."
I have given all of the requested information to them. This company then sent a check to me in the amount of $146.19. They are about $1,000 short of the repair of the 7 windows. I refuse to endorse the check but I am not sure what steps can be taken to make them honor the contract. There is no doubt in my mind that they do not want to be found or to honor the contract.
