My daughter Received two e-mails and a phone call from a solicitor at law (Barrister Stanford Isaac) a personal attorney for a national of the USA with the same last name as my daughters.
The following letter was received on Jun 1.
Dear???
I am barrister STANFORD ISAAC, a solicitor at law. I
am the personal attorney to Mr. Wee Rawdon, a national
of your country, who used to work with shell
development company in Nigeria and as well a one time
secret agent in transfering of money overseas for the
Late head of state of Nigeria {Late Gen. Sani Abacha}.
Before his death On the 21st of April {my client,
his wife and their three children were involved in a
car accident along Badagry Express Road in which all
occupants of the motor died}. My client deposited as
family belongings in a CONSIGNMENT {i. E jewelries} the
sum of $6.5 Million in a city security and finance
company here in Nigeria and from there to Madision 5
Inc abroad for himself, with the hope of transferring
it to his country as soon as he is on leave.
Since his death I have made several enquiries to your
embassy to locate any of my clients extended relatives
this has also proved unsuccessful. After these several
unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his last
name, to locate any member of his family hence I
contacted you. I have contacted you to assist in
repartrating this consignment which is money left
behind by my client before they get confisicated or
declared unknown by the security company where this
huge deposits were lodged.
The Madision 5 Inc where the deceased had deposited
this consignment has issued me a notice to provide the
next of kin or have the consignment confisicated
within the next ten official working days. Since I
have been unsuccesfull in locating the the relatives
for over 1 year now I seek your consent to present you
as the next of kin to the deceased since you have the
same last name so that the proceeds of this deposit
valued at 6.5 million dollars can be handed over to
you and then you and me with my two collegues can
share the money. 20% to us and 80% to you.
I will secure all necessary legal documents that can
be used to back up any claim we may make. All I
require is your honest cooperation to enable us see
that this deal went through. I guarantee that this
will be executed under a legitimate time arrangement
that will protect you from any breach of the law.

It all sounded so good. My daughter emailed back to get more info and gave him my phone number. The following e-mail was his response. Dated June 6
Dear???
How are you and your family? Fine I suppose.
Thanks for your mail and I will like to reassure you
that we are going to follow all legal procedures to
get the two trunk boxes out of the vault of the
security company.in this transaction, trust should bond
us together as without trust we are not going to
achieve our aim of getting the consignment out of the
vault.
I will like us to work together in harmony so that we
can have the consignment delivered to you in your
residence. I will like you to forward me the following
details so that i can secure all relevant documents on
your behalf. The details are as follows.
1) Your full name and address (As in your international
passport, Driver's license or National I. D)
2) Your phone number (Mobile, Residential or Office)
3) Your fax number? (if any)
With these details i will be able to secure the
following documentations on your behalf
1) Sworn affidavit from the Federal High Court, Lagos
2) Letter of Administration
3) Letter of Inheritance
Once I secure all these relevant documents I will
attach it with the Deposit Certificate issued to my
late client and also his Death Certificate with a
letter from my chambers informing the security company
that we are acting on your behalf in getting the two
trunk boxes deposited by your late uncle in their
vault.

She received a phone call from this man on the same day as the last e-mail. He left a message on the machine telling her to check her e-mail. We retreives this phone number from the caller ID.
As I was trying to verify any truth to these e-mails, I found several different e-mails with the same contents except the names where changed. It looks like a standard letter they send to everyone.
