I worked for the store division of Beauty Alliance, a wholesale beauty distributor, in an undisclosed state and I feel it my duty to make the public aware that this company is a sham! They only care about making money, even if it is at the employee's expense. I have seen first hand how they take advantage of customers and employees alike.
As an employee, I, along with my fellow employees, was robbed of cash bonuses that were promised to me for pushing and selling certain items to customers. We were told that since the check was made out to our previous manager who no longer worked there, they would not cut a check because it might be illegal. We were told we were out of luck, and we were NEVER compesated for our hard work.
The regional manager let her personal feelings and opinions of other employees influence her decisions surrounding the workplace. She openly discussed ex-employees and the reasons surrounding their departures with no regard to the influence it had on the employees still working for the company. She would bad-mouth and talk about personal things she knew about them to try to make us dislike them as much as she did.
She would purposely try to make it unbearable for some employee so they would quit. She was always worried and paranoid about legallity surrounding herself, so much that she called coporate to find out what kind of trouble she would get into if she let a pregnant girl go. She felt the pregnant girl could not work as hard as the rest of us and was not worth the time to train.
When I found out about this, I told the pregnant girl what was going on to warn her that there was stuff going on behind her back. When the regional found out about that, she called me an "infection" in the company and stated "you have to get the infection out for the place to survive."
Shortly after I left, she worked the new manager (who was in her 50's) so hard that she had injured herself to the point that she had to file workman compensation and quit.
Now I am getting letters in the mail that I owe them money for employee purchases of which they have no proof. They are trying to get me to pay for other ex-employee's purchases of which I had nothing to do with! They continue to harass me by sending me invoices, and yet they will not call or send letters of explanation!
Do not buy products from this establishment! Presently, there are people in this particular store who know nothing about the products they are selling (which are chemicals), and are giving advice to color and hair specialists! They are just trying to get your money (as they are motivated by reaching goals for cash bonuses) and do not know what they are talking about! Most of these employees are not even licensed cosmetologists or have ever been to school, and they are trying to sell professinal hair products to licensed cosmetologists!
Beauty Alliance is a wolf in sheep's clothing. They have proved to be very unprofessional, unconcerned of the customers needs, harsh and uncaring to their employees (who make the money for them, by the way) and employ individuals who do not know how to use their products, yet pretend to. As a licenced professional, you must be aware that you will not receive professional advice about the products you purchase from Beauty Alliance. And please do not support the unfair treatment of their employees!
