Deal Cent
Consumer Report

I just joined the site and got the 5 free bids. As I registered with my credit card i hit continue and it automatically charged me for the 150 bids ($90.00) even though I didn't chose to click anything. That is false advertising and definitely smells like a scam. The second thing I noticed as I used the first 5 free bids given and 5 of my own newly purchased bids, is that many of the items "recently won" amounts are not updated as they lead you to believe. I began my bidding on an IPad2 Wi-Fi 3G 64G (which had "recently" been won for $12.67USD) with 5 minutes and 30 seconds remaining for bidding. As the timer got closer and closer to 0 seconds, I bid a couple of times. Each time myself or someone else bid the timer was reset to 10 seconds remaining. This went on for at least 30 minutes and as the price reached $18.08USD, it suddenly told me that it had been won and a "new" Ipad2 Wi-Fi 3G 64G was now up for bids for $10.00 with only 10 seconds remaining. That's when I knew there was a real problem. They feed off the excitement of an auction, when in fact there is no proof that the items being bid on are in fact "winnable". The "How To Win" section gives no info as to their process of winning, and as for their support, from what I've read I will not be contacting them either. I will also not be referring any people to this website. As well, the reporters of 'Your Chicago' (Rob Johnson, Kate Sullivan and Dorthy Tucker) on CBS Chicago (CBS 2) on the intro to the video of the website (video found here: http://youtu. Be/RpD6WEBCsUQ) should be ashamed of themselves for leading the public on to thinking that items could honestly be bought so inexpensively. On a related note, of the items mentioned in the report, I never saw anything like a coffee maker, golf clubs or any gift cards up for bids. More false advertising on behalf of this video. All in all, it's no wonder the items are so cheap, since the company makes a killing, I'm sure, with all the penny bids that cost around $. 50 each. I can see my $90USD disappearing very quickly and not ever get anything out of it.
Facebook... You're my next stop and I hope that this site gets shut down so that no one need waste their hard earned dollars for another scam like Dealcent!
