Google searched free grants and grant assist came up to send out a free kit. So i got to the site Clicked on the Get your Kit now button and i was then brought to a page that says they have to chage a $2.95 postage fee. "Due to overwhelming demand we have been force to charge a small postage and handling fee to ship the kit. We guarentee that you will find this kit the most informative and value packed Grant Information kit on the web - if you do no think so then send it back for a complete refund!" I recieve the "KIT" which was just a data disk with information i could find free on the web, so i threw it away. 2 months later im lookin on my bank account and i found 2 $57.93 charges from grant assist on it.
I Called them several times to cancel and after 3 tries of calling and waiting i finally got ahold of someone. They told me that i should have read the terms and conditions. And i asked "where does it say that?" they replied "Right on the Home Page." So I looked on the home page and in super small lettering below the large SHIP MY KIT button it says "By requesting this kit you agree to the terms and conditions of this site." (Note that its not an icon to bring you to the terms and conditions page and there is no check box to agree with the conditions. Once i click SHIP MY KIT Iam agreeing to paying a $58 membership fee every month until i cancel NO REFUND after 7 days)
I can't imagine anyone knows they're getting charged these fees until they look at their bank statment.
