In 2006 I reported to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations that the World Bank covered up illegality and corruption in a Philippines Banking Sector Project. The World Bank rated its supervision of the Philippines Banking Sector Project as satisfactory.in 2007 the President of the Philippines, Estrada, had to pay back the millions of dollars he stole from his country, but I was fired in retaliation. World Bank staff said that they were too intimidated to report corruption after what happened to me. The World Bank's Audit Committee hired KPMG to audit the internal controls of the World Bank, but KPMG refused to follow Generally Accepted Accounting Standards in its audit. KPMG prevented me from contacting the World Bank audit team and gave an unqualified audit opinion. I met with the UK government in September, and in October the UK government called the Securities and Exchange Commission to find out what was going on. The SEC refused to correct KPMG's whitewash of the World Bank cover-up. I testified to the European Parliament on May 25. On June 1 the Chairman of the European Parliament's Committee on Budgetary Control wrote: "I share the opinion expressed by the Members of the Committee that it was very interesting and inspiring to learn about your case at the World Bank and especially the ideas you have presented to us to make whistleblowing more effective." Why isn't US Congress doing its job to hold the SEC accountable? US failure to regulate the international financial markets will result in a currency war.
