I have not heard of suffocation warnings caused by baby bottle caps. Who would've thought it not safe to play with those 'not-so-small' things, right? But it happens and it did happen to my 7-month baby boy.
He was playing with the cap of his Closer to Nature baby bottle and sucked on it. The diameter of the cap covers the area of his nose and mouth and when he sucked on it, it stuck much as a suction cup would. My baby could not get it off and was starting to suffocate.
Fortunately no harm came to him as I watch him as closely as I can.
