We found a Maltese puppy that was up for adoption - after talking to the lady who identified herself as Ms Anita she said we had to send her $200.00 for the transport of the puppy from Cameroon. We got her talked down to $160.00. Like a dummy I fell for it.
We were told that the puppy would be sent out Sat. Evening and she would be delivered to our home on Sunday morning. When I e-mailed them back for confirmation they said the puppy could not be sent without us sending them another $690.00 for rent of an air-conditioned crate because the puppy was only 3 mo. Old. We finally convinced them that we would not send any more money even after ms. Anita said she would pay for 1/2. She led me to believe that she was originally from Iowa and her husband had just been transferred to Cameroon but her typing was very foreign. That is when I became very suspicious and said no more money. I have not heard from anyone since. I told Ms. Anita that if this was a real thing that she could pay for the crate since it was her puppy she wanted to send back. She had a real sob story to tell me - I finally told her to go back to the airport and pick up her puppy and take her home if there was a real puppy. Which I don't think there was.
