We were renting a house from Harpal Sahi which was destroyed in a fire. The fire started at about 4:30am in the mornig and my family was extremely fortunate to get out in time with no injuries. However, we lost EVERYTHING in this fire and literally walked out with only the items we were wearing. Harpal had repair work done in this house by unlicensed contractors and electricians which was the cause of the fire but denied/lied about it all. The burden of proof was with us but everything was destroyed in the fire and we had no way of proving that this was true. We had a few pictures in our online account but really didnt show the faces of the individuals working in the house.in the end, we were not able to recoup any losses from this incident. One day after the fire, Harpal tried to hold our security deposit hostage by trying to force me to sign a waiver before returning the security deposit. The waiver was to release Harpal of all liability and claims. I refused to sign this waiver but it didnt do any good anyway. The house is being rebuilt now which i am sure Harpal will attempt to re-rent. Anyone reading this report - please do not rent from this woman.
