I received a voice mail from the "creditor" which stated that if I did not contact them within 24 hours that my file, #15554, would be sent in for legal action. When I returned the call, I spoke with a man with an Indian accent by the name of Jerry Brown. Mr. Brown then began to spew out information regarding a repayment plan and asked for a down payment in order to prevent NAR from going into legal action. Note, Mr. Brown also stated that they have attempted to deliver mail correspondence to me repeatedly and were unable to reach anyone. I never received any mail stating this matter from Mr. Brown or his company. Unfortunately, I took the bait and gave out my debit card information. But, something didn't seem right so I did some investigating. When I attempted to look up the contact information online, I found numerous scams linked with Mr. Browns contact number, 626-888-1042. I tried contacting this number afterwards from a block number and was unable to receive anyone or even a voice mail inbox. The finally RED flag came when the same organization contacted a family member of mine that same day.
