I have only had an American Express a few months and have never charged anything on it. Lat month I had a $39.95 charge for Home & Leisure Magazine that I did not order. I called and they took it off my account. I just received a new statment and I now have a charge of $89.95 on there "AEPC Member Services". I just called and hung on for a about 15 minutes to talk with someone and then was told this is a magazine and he will have to connect me with someone else. Am hanging on now. How can companies put charges on an account that are not authorized?
Are there no laws governing this?
Needless to say, they have certainly lost a customer. I will never use their card! I told the lady I did not want anything else charged to this account unless I used it. She said I was offered this last October and I told her it was apparent that if Idid not respond to their offer, I was not interested! She said it is cancelled!
This should not be happening!!
