I work in Clayton County School Nutrition Services. At the beginning of this school year we lost 5 days of working, 180days to 175days. This was deducted from our pay. Then they decided to pay us for the time they took. They sent us a check and we would work the 5 days at the end of this year.
Now they say they want the money back. But we are to work the 5 days at the end of the year.
We also was out of school 5 days because of snow and ice. We made up 2 days. The state of ga.
Allows 4 days for bad weather, the county says 3 days.in this case we have settled our bad weather days.
Also the asst. Manager jobs in 36 elementary schools will be eliminated. This leaves 36 people to be
moved around or lose their jobs. There are manager jobs open in schools, so why are they hiring people from other counties. I always was told you had to work in this county school system for 1 year before you could take a managers position.
So why the outsiders. People here have families to feed.
So Clayton County is hurting. Why did they get the uniforms. That could wait until money is better, this cost over 200,000.00 this school year, why do we have to keep up and clean vehicles for the superintendent and other higher ups to drive. That cost the county lots of money too.
The vehicle he drives the county paid for. I'm sure there are others too. When times are hard all should have to sacrifice.
I'm sure there are lots of things that could be done to cut cost.
Please help us. We love our jobs and we have worked very hard for our children. This kind of job you have to love and enjoy to stay in it.
Thank You so much for your time, God bless
