Don't Take the Bait

I can't begin to tell you how foolish I feel about being taken in by Maverick Marketing and Focuslc. Maverick Marketing is the company who originally touted Focuslc to me, and of course I wasn't able to verify any of their sales pitch claims one way or the other. I jumped in with both feet and have a lot of money invested and at risk at this point.

Basically, let me just say that I am an educated man who chose to believe that Focuslc had a product and a system that would work for me in developing an on line store, and I was mistaken. They made it sound like everything would be provided for me, based of course on the all inclusive package I chose.

What I received did not nearly match my understanding. Focuslc designed a website for me and populated it with a maximum of six product categories and a limited number of products in each of the six categories. The products I wanted to sell broke out into about 30 categories with an average of 12 products in each category.

The additional catergories and products I wanted, I had to add myself. There are literally hundreds, maybe thousands of website designers who will do more for you than Focuslc did for me for the same amount of money and the designer will be friendlier and teach you more than Focuslc ever will. Focus tells you right out front that after an initial consultation that they allow 15 minutes for you don't have any further reason to call them. All you need to know, ask the "coaching" team.

You also have to invest the time to research a world full of products to try and learn what products you could sell and what the chances are of them being money makers or not. Competition is stiff on line and you must do the research work and choose wisely. You won't get any help from Focuslc here either. If you can get hold of a coach, they likely will refer you to a step or two in their program that you need to go back and review. These are not smart, articulate people or excellent, professional trainers. I can't emphasize that enough.

The Focuslc step by step instruction guide has a lot of general information about most all of the parts of starting an on line business. But be aware, we are talking about an education that would be better learned as a college major or by spending 10 years in on the job training.

I am speaking of webstie design, html coding, Search Engine Optimization, marketing, product demand research, META keyword usage, blogging, social marketing, writing articles, advertising, financing, accounting, bookkeeping and so on. The "coaching" staff is not capable of answering the questions you will have. And, there is "NO ONE" you can go to, or call, to say, "I need more help than I am getting."

Finally, I will only mention one more frustration, the people and organization try to remain invisible, and do a good job of it. I paid over $5,000.00 for website and marketing and I cannot get in touch with anyone in the company to provide me with an invoice. All they will send me is a list of what I purchased and the cost for each part. The list is not on company letterhead, just an email, and it does not indicate I paid for the items on the list.

This is a very shady organization and I strongly suggest you do not trust them.
