I have been drinking Dr. Pepper for about 10 years, it is by far my drink of choice. On many occasions over the years I have percieved an occasional differance in flavor from one can to another. This week I bought two 12 packs, from the convienance store close to my office. One I took to the office the other I took home. Every can that I drank from each case had a bitter salty taste. Last night I bought a 24 pack from the gaint box store. Upon arriving at home I opened a can. It was great tasting, I drank two cans with in 30 miinutes. This morning i had my wife, who does not like Dr. Pepper taste a sample of each case. Each sample was presented in the same way. She first tasted the can from the small store, she also found it to be foul tasting. The can from the big store she found sweet and syrupy. Just the way I like it. I have had the same expirerance many times over the years. I generally throw the offending product away and buy another. I also percieve a differance between the plastic bottles, of any size and the 12 oz. Can. That I think is OK. Why is there a taste differance and what can I do to assure that I get the better tasting drink. I do not know when the cokes had been delivered to the box store but the product I bought from the small store had been made the morning I made the purchase there. Both stores are located in South Fort Worth
