Damage to my property - Mr Handyman

Mr. Handyman not very handy. I had a large branch come down in my yard from my neighbor’s tree. I told the neighbor she should take care of the branch. She called Mr. Handyman. They showed up and proceeded to take the branch down. Not knowing what he was doing, the main part of the branch fell against my Gutter Helmet and damaged it. The Mr. Handyman employee claims the main branch was up against my house when he got on the job. I have pictures proving the main branch was not against my house and the Gutter Helmet was not damaged before he arrived. I also have many witnesses that saw the main branch was not against my house. When the Mr. Handyman employee was taking down the branch 3 of us heard a loud bang and when we looked the branch was on my Gutter Helmet. Mr. Handyman employee and owner of that franchise David Krivoshia from the North Appleton location (3962 N. Richmond St Appleton, WI) informed me the lady who hired them did not hear the loud bang. The lady is 80 years old and has a hearing problem, of which I informed him. Even with all the pictures and witnesses I have Mr. Krivoshia is not willing to pay for the damage which resulted from the untrained employee of Mr. Handyman. When I contacted the corporate office Mr. Mike McCarthy said tree/branch removal is not usually done by Mr. Handyman. It is very obvious that the Mr. Handyman employee was not trained to do this kind of work. I am hoping that the Mr. Handyman Company will do the right thing and pay for the damage. The damage will probably be under $200.00. I can’t believe Mr. Handyman would not settle this claim and be done with it to avoid letters like this which is not good for business, is bad publicity for the corporation, and the time which Mr. Krivoshia has involved in this matter over a lousy $200.00. It does not make sense.
In conclusion, if I were you, I would stay away from the Mr. Handyman Company, especially the 3962 N. Richmond St Appleton, WI location. If you need electrical work done, hire a licensed electrician. If you need pluming done, hire a licensed plumber. And if you need a branch removed from your yard, hire a reputable tree trimmer.
