In reading all the complaints here ALOT of you have got it a lil' off. No worry. Im going to expose the guts of AHFS... All of it that i can remember. As a former "manager". And i'll even provide some personal instances as well, from what i saw with my own eyes. For a while i fought with myself about this... But my conscience is most important at the end of the day. You can all thank me later, lmao.
[The Basics - Stuff you all read here - common knowledge]
You call a # and then you get your time for your "interview". Which is actually an orientation and interview into one and there are several people there. Never heard of a group interview, odd. Told to wear a shirt and tie [which i have seen people sent home for not having one] then they dont ask for your resume and/or dont call any references. When you show up, Landau is fashionably late or worse... Dressed to impress... Making sure to wear all the expensive, gaudy stuff. To impress the broke avg joe. And he rambles about who he knows like it matters and what he owns again... Like it matters. You cant ask no questions til the end "due to they may be answered during the course of landaus rambling] but thats just so they can sweeten the deal making harder to say no. After which they hit you up for 90 to reserve a seat in "training" the following weekend and stress seats are limited and about the "opportunity"... To pressure you into a hasty decision [side note: ive even heard Landau tell people not to pay their rent or other bills and give ahfs the money. And then stress the potential/possibilty with ahfs to get the 80 lessons done before they would even know its missing]. For a total of 397.50 - total for seat reserve and training. My interview lasted til' 3am from 6pm. Unless youre a vampire... Who conducts business at such a time?
After that you are instructed into getting a tape recorder for training [which the remaining balance of the 397.50 is needed by]. Which is sat morning to saturday night and then sun night. If i remember correct. Which the material covered is good... At least the ACTUAL fire safety bit. The sat morning stuff is covered by Landau which he is supposed to go around 3 hrs but he would EASILY babble for 5 or MORE. About much of the same stuff on the other reports here. Unimportant stuff... His beliefs, treatment of super market people, his dead wife[read about this later in my report], his moms business, his buddies [more later], stars he rubs elbows with[not] and possessions [not, more later]. Then its finished off by "jason" - his then live-in assistant. When "Jason" came in, thats when we actually got any info on fire related material. Thats the only part that was interesting. The job is presented as "not a sales job" when indeed it is. Its commission based when its all said and done - even management [paid per person hired = 10 for hired / 90 if they showed up to training]. Its set up in a system that is designed against you to begin with [more later]. And even if you get into the upper echelon like i did... They target people who arent like them and cut them out. Even if you do your job noble. Im sure in 1986 or whenever, it was great... But it was under diff. Leaders. And not one who is still talking like he lives in 1986 when ahfs was at its glory days [landau]. Your "lead and referral" program is set up like this... You have a time period to knock out 80 lessons or they dont have to pay you a dime of your 397.50 you forked over total to them. And you sign on that one. Making it binding. The first 20 are people you know and they are each supposed to refer 2-5 people they know and so forth. That is the referral program... The buddy system. And there is NO hourly pay no matter if they offer 9999999 an hour, its if you sell then you get paid. And lessons you dont sell are evened out by ones you sell alot. The product is remarkable and effective but people can smell a sale a mile away typically.
Yes, Landau does talk incessantly long about irrelevant topics. And pollutes most of the "interview" with it as well as the "training". But the worst is... Its nothing more than a tax shelter for 5 men looking to get over on the irs by putting their personal belongings on ahfs as "expenses". Their official name is "Bloods4ever" - like they are some form of "goodfellas" or mobsters... Dont make me laugh. Ive even seen landau threaten physical harm to a person who came to the office looking for his money back. Once you try to make the company money and move it into the spotlight, they target you. Money draws attention [from the irs] they dont want so they dont care if ahfs makes money [hello - tax shelter]. And if they do make money... I assure you... Their expenses kill that little money you make them. A yacht, the jag [which rick pays for] and other things. A jag thats 10 years old doesnt impress people... A "mercedes mclaren slr" OR "chrysler m.E. Four-twelve" [sticker price = 450k each] would. Landau really has no dead wife... Hes gay. That disclosed from a source VERY close to him. So do not fall for his "pity party" over his "dead wife". He did die from what i gathered but its still a sympathy ploy to draw you in. Also he doesnt own diddly... The one partner "Rick" pays his bills and other expenses and he uses the company money to pay other expenses after his money is exhausted. Company yacht... Nope..."ricks" personal yacht.
Even landaus "houses" [laughs]... Not true... Well maybe in 1986... Now... Nope. Without rick hed be homeless.in fact prior to landau moving ahfs into willingboro he moved in with his brother [who actually is doing something honorable with himself] so he wasnt homeless AGAIN. His bracelets dont cost as much as he says. So dont be wowed by them. He told other managers who had nice possessions to utilize them as swaying tools in "interviews". As if they got them after being with ahfs. Amusing. Check landaus liscense i wonder if it still has his brothers name/picture [dont remember which] on it. Since his has been suspended for a while. And the bbb stuff is crap... They arent affiliated with the bbb. I just checked an hour ago from this. They do have an "a-" rating however. And they are not affiliated with the nfpa either. Ive seen landaus ugly side towards people and the letter he "forces them" to write. It is mainly to absolve ahfs of any wrongdoing, basically. Ive also seen the "question my integrity" convo... You have to have integrity to question in the first place fool. I have learned some good lessons at ahfs, but also ive seen ugly things that equal that. There could have been potential in ahfs should the company be run by people other than 2 bit hustlers and irs dodgers. I wrote this so you guys would be informed... I think youre fully informed now.
