First, I'm not the victim, just a close relative of the mother. When I received the frantic call asking me to come get her children, because Children and Youth stated both daughters age 1 and 3 were abused. They based this on marks found on the facial cheeks of her 1 year old. I dropped everthing and proceeded to York. At this point they were planning on separating both girls.
Fortunately, a close family friend was closer to the location and opt to assist. She took both girls to help the family out. The children were then taken to the hospital, stripped completely down, photographed and then xrayed, the 1 year old was issed a high radiating Cat Scan of the head. Even though the attending physician stated the CT was not necessary. Of course, this is not new to anyone. Apparently the attending physician at the hospital was asked whether a child did these injuries or and adult and of course, they stated an adult. Now the MD could have been a resident/intern, who know their qualifications, but CYS based their decision on the doctor's OPINION.
The key, though, is that these two girls taken care of, doctor appointments kept, shots up to date and seen regularly by the public and beautiful little gilrs, never a complaint, or suspicion of abuse.in fact, these two little girls lived with 8 other kids. WOW.
The mother states she laid her 1 year old down for a nap as she usually does. Left, (her sister and her sisters children were there) and returned to find her daughter with marks on her cheeks ONLY. The other children in the home are ages (12-1) of course anything is possible with cousins, but who am I to say. The mother became upset and at this time, the Aunt from her fathers side was there and called 911 stating abuse. Then the story really begins. Falsification of documents on CYS stating bruising and cuts on the entire bodies of both girls, etc.
We have been to court twice, what a waste of time, but non-the-less. Watching as the two little girls were screaming and crying for their MOMMY trying to claw their way out of peoples arms to get to her was such a tear jerker. As a mom all I could do is want to slap the $%^& out the case workers as they stood talking like it meant nothing to them. I realized that we were dealing with heartless people. But as a parent a sign of abuse is children moving away, no eye contact and crying to avoid the abuser, right???
We were also suprised at the manner of the hearings, the rude and ignorance of the Judges in both trials. I was unaware that no one is permitted to enter a court of law. How do you know the defendant is being treated farily? And this is the case. Everything is onesided CYS only nothing else matters, not even the FACT that they have no evidence to prove the mother did anything. CYS states she is last adult to see the child without marks. SAY WHAT, that means nothing. CYS knows there a many children in the home, but I suspect they need to keep their jobs by making false accusations to keep the ball rolling.
Then it gets better, CYS states they have located one of the fathers of the girls (there are two). They are going to suggest the girls be placed with the father of the youngest girl. Now the catch. The girls are actually with his mother even though CYS states the father lives with the mother. The father at the 2nd trial admitted not living with his mother and staying in Philadelphia with the next girl who is about to have his child. Boy this gets better. The father is also a known felon, on parole for Gun Possession and Narcotics. OMG and CYS finds he is better suited to have the girls then the mother. The mother was told that in June for her next hearing, CYS is not recommending reunification. Talk about abusing your power. They have no grounds to deny this, but the Judges need to also wake up and stop taking payoffs to assist in this baby selling business.
CYS has repeatedly lied and made false hope for the mother stating they were going to reunite her with the girls twice already and have done everything in their power to prevent it. CYS has recommened that the mother get Parenting clasees and a Mental Health Evaluation. Oh, the evaluation was because the mother snapped when she found out the CYS was placing the girls with one of the fathers. Wouldnt' you?
We her family are in the process of trying to find an attorney for her. She did have a court appointed attorney that turned out to only work the CYS. We need someone who will fight they bullies. My questions is where are the politicians who want our votes, why are they not stopping this baby selling trend. Why is this ok because its Children and Youth. They are no different than any other person attempting to purchase a child. If I'm wrong, then why are so many children being adopted off, base on the opinion of CYS. Why are the permitted to say whether or not a person is a good parent. Please don't say the went to school. School doen't teach you life, they only prepare for the future.
As her relative I feel so useless not helpless, but useless, I've never seen such a display a betrayl from Government Officials as CYS. They have to stop, they need boundaries. I read so many other stories and it reminds me of the slave trade.
I pray to GOD daily for the mother and kids. I pray someone interveins and stops this craziness. I watch in anger as this mother doesn't eat, sleep and cries daily for her kids, not understanding why. CYS should remember that they have protocols, but every case is not the same.innocent until proven guilty.
I'm not saying there are not actual cases of abuse, we all know there is, just that there should be some tact in the way they handle each case. Not to treat them as an abuser-case closed. We are our rights, why did some official strip us of them?
