My boyfriend was the new Maintenance Tec at the ClockTower, he started in September and was not made to pay a security deposit. He had been working for the same company for about 3 1/2 years, but transferred to The Clock Tower because they needed the help and promised to give him a raise in 90 days and then promote him to supervisor after that. When I moved in I had to pay the $668 security deposit and we were on a month to month. Not only was he committed to his job but knew more than his supervisor, therefore had to carry a heavier load than anyone else. He tried forming standard friendships with the people he worked with, to make his job a little less painful. One night we cooked stir fry and had an extra bowl, so trying to be nice he gave it to his boss Katie who criticized our apartment, took the food and then left.
After the 90 days he still hadnt gotten his raise, that Katie promised him. So he brought it up to Katie. She had became cross with him, claiming that he wasnt doing his job; not doing it well and that he wasnt nice to anybody. She took a long time after that just to give him his review and in the review she told him he needed to start being nicer to the residents and the staff in order to be able to get the 25 cent raise. Not only was he busting his ass, picking up the other peoples slack but hes the type that gives people respect when hes respected.
You go do a work order and fix someone's problem you would at least expect a thank you. Its that simple.
Katie had started interviewing for potential supervisors. He had a talk with her and asked her why she was interviewing other people for the job she said she would give to him. She acted surprised that he even wanted the position and told him that he would have to be interviewed. She set one up for him and he even brought in his resume. Things seemed to be looking up. Later on she lied to him about hiring a woman supervisor instead of giving him the position that was promised to him. Turns out she hired an older man instead, who clearly embellished his resume because my boyfriend had to start training him.
More time had past and he was working harder still. Katie had become more nit-picky and seemed to have stopped taking her medication. Everybody started hating their jobs. And in reality they all want to quit.
Katie was more and more unpleasant. My boyfriend had become wary and started searching for other jobs. Katie had become very pissed when potential jobs were calling her about his work integrity and in return she gave him a bad review. She wanted to keep him there because he was the one doing most of the maintenance and the only one who knew how to.
Finally on March 14 He had put in his 30 days noticed to move out. Three days after that she called him in on his lunch, handed him a sheet she had typed up stating what she thought he did wrong and used those as an excuse to fire him. One of those excuses was from calling him into a job 15 minutes before he was off to fix a leak, instead of paging the on-site supervisor. The leak was from somewhere in a residents ceiling, of which he was trying to find and fix. Katie called him every 5 minutes pestering him to finish because she didnt want to pay him overtime. She ordered him to just duct-tape the hole he had to make to fix the problem because she didnt want the resident to see the hole. She used that excuse from the incident as one of the reasons to terminate him. She set him up. She gave us only 3 days to move out. We had to leave stuff behind. She knew it wasnt enough time for us to repaint the apartment and clean the rugs, so out of unfairness she got to keep my $668. And leave us Homeless for all she cared. He was with the Clocktower for about a year until we were "asked to leave" out of the blue. For a fact from being in on the inside, he knows that Katie reads the bad reviews and tries to get them legally removed or she writes comments posing as another resident to cover the company when in fact there are other websites proving the truth.
I had to quit my job after working there for over two years.
A month later she found out where we were and called another Riverstone location to send us a letter claiming that we owed her another $80 dollarsso she wouldnt have to.
What a money hungry, lazy, conniving corporate whore.
Not only did you screw up both his and my job integrity but you screwed up two businesses, with the loss of two dedicated hard working passionate associates. Obviously youre not professional enough to do your own job.
Id personally like to thank you for this for now we are moving on to better opportunities. Unfortunately, you are still in the same spot. Have a nice life, katie. Good luck with the downfall of the clocktower.
