Maer Automotive
Heavy Duty Truck Dept. Wrong Diagnosis, overcharged, slow service

Me and a friend both had a run in at Maer Automotive, i broke down and was recommended this shop by the tow truck driver from Excalibur Towing. He took me to this place mind you it said Automotive on the side of the building, that was my first bad vibe. When i get there i talk to this guy Bill, fat guy, who looks likes he hasnt seen his dick since Jimmy Carter. But regardless he guestimates whats wrong with my truck, little does he know i have 15 years ubder my belt as a mechanic and i still turn wrenches, but dont have a shop so im at his mercy. I know whats wrong i just need him to fix it. / but i figure after i leave after a god diagnosis hell find whats wrong. Like any good mechanic does. The three C's Condition, Cause, Correction.

Long story Short, this guy charged me for what he Thought was wrong, and when he said it would be done, all of a sudden you find what was really wrong and now you want to charge me for the real problem, which i knew what it was.

So after a bill adjustment in labor that was settled. This is my complaint, this isa good automotive shop, indeed, theres a good mechanic there named (Donald, or Don) he did a friends car for me, he knows his shit. But when it comes to heavy duty trucks, diesel, buses, or anything big. This is the wrong place; its an automotive shop pretending to be a Truck Shop. The Truck Techs do what there told, Ive talked to one and from what i get from Him. The owner doesnt take suggestions well, a God Complex, my name on the building type of guy. He says whats wrong you fix it, but his ass is to fat to reallt see whats wrong, unless your in the pit working. Hence your misdiagnosis.
My suggestion, you have a car good place, have a truck stay away.

My friend a tool guy for Matco in that area had a GMC, took it to him, he didnt fix the problem and still charged my friend for what HEY THOUGHT WAS THE PROBLEM. After having the truck 2 weeks mind you.
My friend took the truck to the dealer, and they it THAT DAY.

Same suggestion if you have a heavy duty truck, tractor trailer, bus, or rv. Take it elsewhere.

You have a car, you can trusted the car guys there.
