Faunasphere.com BEWARE PARENTS your credit card is not protected!

Faunasphere owned by BigFishGames.com is a gaming website. My kids have been a free member for a while and for Valentine's Day I decided to get them a $4.99 per month membership so they could enjoy having more pets, get through more levels, etc. I am usually weary of using the internet for things like this but I thought hey, they take PayPal so they should be a good company and if not I am protected with PayPal. Little did I know when I listed my credit card details on Faunasphere those details were left wide open for my 6 year old son to use without my permission or notification.

My 6 y.O. Son thought it was play money and he was able to purchase more animals. With this said by the time I caught it over $150.00 was charged to my credit card through PayPal within a 5 day period. I first wrote Faunasphere as they did not have any contact details, phone number, address, only e-mail customer service. All I got from them was read the disclaimer we are covered from any fault. Then I contact PayPal and they back them up due to the disclaimer. I just want everyone with children to know that this company preys on small children's innocence and please do not make the same mistake I made. I have learned my lesson and sadly enough my children have too as they will not be getting anything for Valentine's Day because I cancelled everything to do with the site. It is very sad that there are sites out there that prey on small children and unaware parents.

A company of their size could have easily password protected an adult's credit card details or given the adult the option to give full access or not to the child playing but they prefer to keep it where kids can run up large bills without their parents knowing so they can make money off unexpecting parents. Also, I am very disappointed in PayPal. I have been a member of PayPal since 1993 and have never felt as vulnerable as I do today. I am wondering if their priorities have changed in protecting their cardholders. I run my business through them also and am thinking seriously about cancelling service with them.
